Regional Directions The Country Chapel and Refuge is located on Highway 8, three miles east of Deary, Idaho. This is approximately 150 miles southeast of Spokane, Washington, and 100 miles southeast of Coeur d'Alene, Idaho.
From Spokane, WA - take interstate highway 90 to Coeur d'Alene, ID. Turn south at Coeur d'Alene toward Moscow, ID on highway 95. At Moscow, ID turn east to Troy, ID on highway 8.
Continue on Highway 8 for approximately 18 miles, through the town of Deary, and onto The Country Chapel and Refuge (approximately 3 miles east of Deary). The address is 5498 Highway 8 (on the right or north side of Highway 8).
Note: If you reach the beautiful little town of Helmer, you've gone about 3/4 of mile too far. If you reach the lovely little town of Bovill, you've gone about 6-8 miles too far.

From Coeur d'Alene, ID - Use the Spokane, WA directions without the first sentence.
From Boise, ID - Travel north to Lewiston, ID. From Lewiston, ID, take Highway 12 east, until you reach Arrow Junction (Arrows Bridge). Take the left turn (Highway 3), do not cross the bridge.
Take Highway 3 to Juliaetta, ID, continue through Juliaetta, ID, to Kendrick, ID. Continue through Kendrick, and up the Kendrick grade (still on Highway 8) up to Deary, ID - stay on Highway 3 the entire time until you reach Deary, ID. When at Deary, ID (stop sign, across from a mini-mart and gas station), turn right onto Highway 3. Travel 3 miles, and you will be at The Country Chapel and Refuge. The address of The Country Chapel and Refuge is 5498 Highway 8 (on the left or north side of Highway 8).Repeat Note: If you reach the beautiful little town of Helmer, you've gone about 3/4 of mile, too far. (There are two different pathways to travel)1) From Lewiston, ID or Clarkston, WA - Travel to north Lewiston, either across the Memorial Bridge (Lewiston) or Chief Timothy Bridge (Clarkston, WA - an alternate is to cross to Idaho from Washington over the "blue" bridge on Bridge St. in Clarkston, WA).
Once in north Lewiston (some traveling east first if using Chief Timothy Bridge), head east on Highway 12. Travel east for approximately 11 miles to the Arrows Junction (Arrows Bridge). Take the left turn before the bridge onto Highway 3 (across the bridge goes to Orofino, ID instead). Travel to Juliaetta, ID, through Juliaetta, ID, and then travel to Kendrick, ID on the same Highway (8). When in Kendrick, ID, go through the city up the Kendrick grade to Deary, ID. Deary is approximately 15 miles northeast of Kendrick,ID.
When at Deary, ID ... turn right at the stop sign onto Highway 8 (a mini-mart with a gas station to the right, also). Travel approximately 3 miles east, and you have reached The Country Chapel and Refuge. The address is 5498 Highway 8, and is on the left (north) side of Highway 8.

2) From Lewiston, ID or Clarkston, WA through Moscow - Travel to north Lewiston, either across the Memorial Bridge (Lewiston) or Chief Timothy Bridge (Clarkston, WA - an alternate is to cross to Idaho from Washington over the "blue" bridge on Bridge St. in Clarkston, WA).
Once in north Lewiston (some traveling east first if using Chief Timothy Bridge), head east on Highway 12. Take the cut-off for Moscow, ID (on Highway 95, up the Lewiston Hill) - this requires being in the left lane for a left turn. Travel up the Lewiston Hill, and stay on Highway 95, which goes to Moscow, ID (University of Idaho).
When in Moscow, on the east side (you are coming from the east direction - so expect this at the 2nd stop light), turn right onto Highway 8 to Troy, ID. Troy, ID is approximately 11 miles east of Moscow, ID; and The Country Chapel and Refuge is approximately 30 miles east of Moscow, ID.
Continue on Highway 8 through the city of Troy, ID, and onto Deary, ID. Continue through Deary, ID, and 3 miles east of Deary is The Country Chapel and Refuge - address: 5498 Highway 8 (left side or north side of Highway 8).Note: If you reach the beautiful little town of Helmer, you've gone about 3/4 of mile too far.
